Zeiss’ full-frame Android camera is available to preorder for $6,000

The Zeiss ZX1, a unique camera that was announced more than two years ago before the company essentially stopped talking about it, may actually be in customers’ hands at some point in the near future. As noted by DPReview, B&H Photo has sent out emails saying that it’s coming soon and is now available to preorder for $6,000. It was originally supposed to be released in early 2019.

Why would anyone pay $6,000 for the ZX1? Well, it wouldn’t be wise to order without at least waiting for hands-on impressions of the finished product, but it is fair to say that it’s a one-of-a-kind camera. It has a 37-megapixel full-frame sensor, a fixed 35mm f/2 lens, an electronic viewfinder, and three dials to control aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. More...

A sequel has officially been announced, one that will presumably pick up where one of the post-credits scenes left off and introduce Tails into the mix, but insider Daniel Richtman claims that Paramount are also considering the idea of giving Jim Carrey’s Doctor Robotnik his own spinoff. The rubber-faced funnyman channeled his 1990s heyday with a scenery-devouring performance that was the undoubted highlight of the movie, and the second stinger teased a much more video game accurate appearance in the sequel.

However, a Robotnik spinoff that doesn’t involve Sonic would be a much harder sell to casual audiences, even with a big name like Jim Carrey attached. It makes a lot more sense to have him as a recurring villain in the franchise rather than giving him his own movie, but having struck gold with the first installment the studio might be intending to throw their weight behind an entire Sonic the Hedgehog cinematic universe.

In a year with so much that’s gone wrong, it’s never a bad thing to hear more about what’s going on with one of Hollywood’s funniest and most likeable talents. Ryan Reynolds has been on a roll lately with humorous jabs and other fun-loving shenanigans, but in the midst of all of that, something’s also brewing in regards to his most beloved role as the chimichanga-eating antihero Deadpool.

Recently, prominent insider Daniel Richtman claimed that President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige wants to sign Reynolds to the biggest deal in MCU history. The idea of the Merc with a Mouth suiting up in Marvel’s already expansive shared cinematic universe would be a dream come true for most fans of the character, but as of right now, we still only have rumors and speculation to go on.

Regardless of when it finally gets here, Deadpool 3‘s development has been a long and drawn out affair. Creator Rob Liefeld has often been vocal about his frustration with how slowly Disney has moved forward with the film, too, but the new rumors have prompted him to speak out in favor of Reynolds joining the MCU as the masked vigilante, stating that his character is a “sure thing” in the entertainment world.

It’s obviously been a terrible year for humans as a whole, especially with the ongoing COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic that has infected 35 million people around the world and racked up a death toll of over 1 million. Because of this, it goes without saying that plenty of folks have continued to practice social distancing by avoiding outings altogether, putting quite a strain on the entertainment industry – especially movie theaters.

With so many cinemas just recently re-opening after months of closure, it’s been hard to tell what the future holds for them, but weak turnouts for the smattering of high-profile releases so far have led many to worry that major chains like Regal and AMC won’t make it through the pandemic. It’s understandable that production companies aren’t feeling particularly comfortable releasing big titles in a time when so few people are willing to take the risk and watch a film on the big screen, but the widespread delays of upcoming pics could be the final nail in the coffin for theaters.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a worldwide issue if everyone’s favorite Canadian actor, Ryan Reynolds, didn’t find a way to chime in on it, right? In a teaser for an incoming Free Guy trailer, he’s decided to troll us all about the non-stop delays – and the world expects nothing less at this point.

The promo sees director Shawn Levy, Reynolds and various other actors from the film recording a collection of lines for upcoming release dates, such as Christmas, next Valentine’s Day and “before the asteroid hits.” It seems they’ve covered all of the bases for now, so if anything were to happen during a year so full of uncertainty, at least they’ve managed to take a lighthearted approach to a potential delay.

For the time being, though, Free Guy remains on track to meet its December 11th release date, but anything could happen between now and then, naturally. In the meantime, we can look forward to the full new trailer at some point tomorrow.
