A couple of months ago, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said that the official title for Avengers 4 won’t be announced until sometime near the end of this year, explaining that the Captain Marvel teaser is likely to drop first. Until then, you should probably approach any supposed reveal of the name of this much-anticipated sequel with extreme skepticism, even if the Russo Brothers are your source.
Nonetheless, fans have found cause for false hope on more than one occasion this year. The title Avengers: End Game, for instance, was doing the rounds back in June, but was ultimately dismissed in light of Joe Russo’s statement that the next film’s subtitle wouldn’t originate from any dialogue in Infinity War. There was even a rumor that the title would be revealed at the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp, though obviously this one was pretty quickly refuted by the actual movie. Meanwhile, Joe and his brother Anthony Russo have trolled fans with the title a couple of times – a habit that continues, if only accidentally, with a new tweet.
This weekend, the pair shared a fan video titled “(Marvel) Avengers | Sacrifice,” consisting of an emotional montage of MCU moments leading up to the climactic dusting of Infinity War. But while the Russos probably just appreciated the work that was put into this 5-minute homage, some Twitter users misinterpreted the video as a title announcement.

If what we’re told is true, then once that Captain Marvel trailer arrives, the lane will clear for the title of the movie that’ll be bringing Marvel’s Phase 3 to a close. Until then, perhaps all we can do is be patient.
As for the first Avengers 4 trailer, that’s currently predicted to arrive in November, which would rhyme neatly with the Infinity War teaser going online on November 29th, 2017. Of course, all of these developments are secondary to the film itself, which we already know will be coming to us on May 3rd, 2019.
