Here’s What Captain America’s Plan In Avengers: Endgame May Be

As the first trailer and TV spot for Avengers: Endgame make clear, the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War sequel will see Captain America hatch a plan to reverse the genocidal snap that concluded his last movie, but so far, the official footage has done a fairly decent job at concealing the specifics of his scheme. Nonetheless, in a new piece from Screen Rant, the evidence we have so far is compiled into a pretty compelling prediction of how Marvel’s Phase 3 finale could play out.

First of all, the recent TV spot suggests that Steve Rogers will assemble a new team consisting of Thor, Black Widow, Rocket, Ant-Man, War Machine, Bruce Banner, and potentially others. And given the cliffhanger that Ant-Man and the Wasp left us on, Scott Lang’s journey into the Quantum Realm could well see Paul Rudd’s character discover some important information for their mission, prompting his superhero peers to put on those Quantum Realm suits that keep showing up in leaks and venture into this mysterious place.

As for what this mission could entail, anyone whose been keeping track of the various Endgame rumors and theories that have been making the rounds for the past year shouldn’t be surprised to hear that Screen Rant’s answer is time travel. Between the leaked set pics showing Ant-Man, Iron Man and Captain America revisiting the Battle of New York from 2012’s The Avengers, and the trailer scene of Scott showing up at the Avengers headquarters in CCTV footage labelled “ARCHIVE,” it’s argued that Scott will discover a means of traveling back into the past.

From here, it’s suggested that Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will journey somewhat stealthily through different periods in MCU history in order to obtain the Infinity Stones in order to undo the Decimation. Of course, this is all just speculation for the time being, but it’s still a nice summary of what we know and think we know so far, and we’ll find out how much the theory gets right when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th, 2019.
