Carol Takes Command In Epic Captain Marvel Super Bowl Trailer

The current buzz is pretty strong for Captain Marvel, and if those impressive early ticket sales for Carol Danvers’ big screen debut are anything to go by, then it looks like Kevin Feige and co. are about to drop another monster hit on us. But while the promotion for the upcoming MCU flick has proven to be pretty generous in recent weeks, it seems that the studio isn’t done showing off new footage just yet, delivering another fresh TV spot during the Super Bowl earlier tonight.

Though not terribly long, this latest bite-sized look at the film offers up a few more glimpses of Carol in action, teasing some of Captain Marvel’s big set pieces as the titular hero attempts to bring an end to the Kree/Skrull war. Some of this we’ve seen already and some of it’s brand new, but when put together it all makes for a rather epic tease of what awaits us next month. Not to mention that it should serve as the perfect appetizer for Avengers: Endgame, which will arrive shortly after.

Set in the 1990s, long before Nick Fury began assembling a group of remarkable people, Captain Marvel will bring us the extraordinary story of Carol Danvers, a former U.S. Air Force fighter pilot who finds herself caught up in the middle of the Kree-Skrull war. The latter species are known for their shapeshifting abilities, which should make for some pretty interesting scenes – remember when the Internet lost its collective shit back in the fall at Carol punching an old lady?

Also on the cast list for this one are Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Annette Bening and Clark Gregg, the MCU’s forgotten man who hasn’t been seen in theaters since he was brutally murdered by Loki in The Avengers. But thanks to the mid-90s setting, Agent Coulson’s now all set to make his triumphant return.

Captain Marvel flies into theaters on March 8th, and the MCU will never be the same again.
