Josh Brolin Takes The 10 Year Challenge With Savage Avengers: Infinity War Joke

Josh Brolin has offered his contribution to the viral 10 Year Challenge but with a twist, showing the development of Thanos over the decade while dropping a harsh reference to the finale of Avengers: Infinity War.

The Avengers: Endgame star took to Instagram with two images of the Mad Titan. One pic shows him as the big purple conqueror we know from last year’s Marvel megahit, and the other one – allegedly the Thanos from 10 years ago – is a play on that infamous photo of Dwayne Johnson rocking a turtleneck sweater and fanny pack in his younger days. In the caption, Brolin as Thanos reflects on his embarrassing fashion choices, before ending his message on a dark note:

“Wow. It’s been ten years. I look at myself back then and I can’t even believe it: no discipline, that hair, even the necklace. Haha. I don’t know what I was thinking. The right supplements, listening to Super Soul Sunday Podcast and following David Goggins has really thrown me onto the right path. My head’s just in a different place now. I really like about half of the people I meet. About 50%. Yeah, about half.”

Incidentally, early drafts for Infinity War saw the film delve further into Thanos’ past, fleshing out the villain’s life on Titan before the civilization’s downfall, though the concept art of “young Thanos” released a few days ago surprisingly showed no turtleneck.

Regardless, though things generally went pretty well for the tyrant in Infinity War, you can expect the tables to turn in the upcoming Endgame. As it stands, Thanos’ role in Anthony and Joe Russo’s film remains mysterious, though various leaked promo art has at least indicated that the character will be back in his armor, while also wielding a fancy new blade.

Seeing how Thanos ditched the armor in Avengers: Infinity War because he felt that his Infinity Gauntlet kept him protected enough, the question is raised of whether the Titan’s accessory isn’t working as well as it used to, and the answer to this and many other queries will surely come when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th, 2019.
