Dwayne Johnson is set to go toe to toe with Thor regular Idris Elba in the upcoming Hobbs and Shaw, but if a true Marvel and Fast and Furious crossover could ever be arranged, Johnson has made it clear that he thinks his alter ego Luke Hobbs could take on none other than the God of Thunder himself.
Johnson proposed the idea in a new promo for The Titan Games, in which the star wields a hammer while joking that he can now understand why his buddy Chris Hemsworth likes putting on the Thor costume. The actor goes on to explain his idea for an action scene in which he and Hemsworth’s characters trade blows (Johnson wins, of course), before insisting that the crossover would be box office gold. While tweeting this clip, Johnson doubled down on his suggestion in the accompanying text:
“Hey I specialize in big, crazy ideas for the world to enjoy..& a movie where it’s the God of Thunder @ChrisHemsworth vs that big, brown, bald, tattooed, tequila drinker fella. U guys ready to see that? #ThorHitsTheFloor #BoxOfficeGold I’m calling Kevin Feige to make this happen.”

While something tells us that Johnson isn’t being 100% serious in his suggestion, the actor is set to join in on the comic book action of the DCEU in the role of Black Adam. Though the character was once thought to be showing up as the villain in the new Shazam! movie, it was eventually announced that Adam would be getting his own standalone film, and while it’s been some time since we last heard any news on the matter, there’s reason to believe the pic may begin shooting this year.
In the meantime, the Fast and Furious universe will be undergoing an expansion of its own when Hobbs and Shaw hits theaters on August 2nd, 2019. As for Thor, you’ll be able to see Hemsworth wield the hammer at least one more time when Avengers: Endgame comes out on April 26th.
