Guardians Of The Galaxy Star Teases Nova Corps’ Return In Avengers: Endgame

Avengers: Endgame is set to be one heavy-loaded film, with numerous characters, plot developments and other elements to get through. Though Marvel has been exceptionally good at keeping as many spoilers out of the marketing as possible, with just a few weeks left to go now, we’re starting to get an idea of what’s going to happen in the highly-anticipated event.

On that note, Screen Rant recently caught up with Guardians of the Galaxy star Peter Serafinowicz and asked him if there’s any chance he could return as his character Denarian Garthan Saal in Endgame. Curiously, the actor played the question incredibly coy. After first asking what character SR was referring to, Serafinowicz then replied: “I can’t say… I can neither confirm nor deny.”

This is certainly intriguing. But how could Saal feature into Endgame when the Nova Corpsman died battling Ronan and his forces on Xandar? Well, the answer could lie in time travel. After all, we’re fully expecting the remaining Avengers to traverse the Quantum Realm in a bid to cross their own timeline and recover the Infinity Stones before Thanos managed to assemble them.

And don’t forget that set photos seemed to suggest that the events of Guardians of the Galaxy would be revisited. So what if the Avengers travel to Xandar in 2014 and pinch the Power Stone from Nova Prime and her soldiers? This would surely change history, as Thanos is said to have decimated Xandar in order to claim the gem in Avengers: Infinity War.

What’s more, Kevin Feige has discussed the possibility of a Nova movie arriving in the near future. Reintroducing the Nova Corps to audiences in Avengers: Endgame would be a smart move before Richard Rider – the human hero who possesses the Nova Force in the comics – makes his MCU debut, wouldn’t you say?

For now, though, let’s not get too carried away, even if Peter Serafinowicz’s comments have our interests piqued.
