Michael B. Jordan Remembers The Late Stan Lee

In the wake of Stan Lee’s passing, tributes from current and former stars of the MCU have been emerging at an overwhelming rate, with Black Panther villain Michael B. Jordan being among the many to show his gratitude to the man who helped make the Marvel brand what it is today.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Creed II star reflected on the legacy of the late, great comic book creator.

“[He] literally changed the face of entertainment in so many different ways,” Jordan said, “He showed people how to dream; how to escape.”

In reference to the writer’s traditional cameo, Jordan went on to say that he was “honored to be a part of one of the last films [Lee] got a chance to be a part of,” before signing off his tribute with, “Rest in peace, Stan Lee. We lost a really, really good one.”

Though Jordan’s run in the Marvel universe may have been relatively short, the actor left a strong impression with viewers in the role of Erik “Killmonger” Stevens. The star has been one of several from Black Panther to reflect on Lee’s passing in these past few days, too, with his onscreen enemy Chadwick Boseman choosing to send the writer to the other side with a little musical performance. Lupita Nyong’o, meanwhile, commented, “Stan’s creative genius sparked my imagination & left me in awe,” whereas Danai Gurira thanked the man for “creating worlds of wonder and heroism.”

Though Stan Lee may be gone, it’s clear that he’s left a strong impression with fans and associates alike, and with Black Panther 2 confirmed to be on the way, it looks like many of these performers will continue to honor and expand Lee’s legacy in the years to come.
