Sylvester Stallone Shares New Rambo 5 Set Photos And First Video

Production may be well underway for Rambo 5, but the movie remains an ever-evolving project as star and co-writer Sylvester Stallone continues to make changes to the script.

These last couple of weeks have seen the actor share several photos – and a video – from the set of this long-awaited sequel, the most recent of which has been a close-up of Stallone with a screenplay on his lap as he sits at the seat of some farming equipment. The caption reads as follows:

“A Writer’s job is never done…Still working on the screen play in between shots of operating an earth mover…”

It’s likely that this image is taken from the film’s early sections, when John Rambo is still living a quiet life on an Arizona ranch. Things don’t stay peaceful for long, however, as a Mexican drug cartel led by actor Sergio Peris-Mencheta is said to kidnap a group of local girls for their sex trafficking ring. The incident brings Rambo out of retirement and across the border as he seeks to track down the women with the help of a reporter played by Paz Vega.

For this dangerous mission, our hero will presumably be using the “small knife” exhibited in another of these recent set pics, as well as the various armaments on display in the character’s “man cave.” Needless to say, the situation is probably going to get ugly, with Stallone captioning yet another of his Instagram uploads with the warning:

“No beast so fierce as a man pushed to the edge.”

Speaking of beasts, the next Rambo could’ve turned out very differently, with the sequel originally planned to pit the action star against a “half-human abomination” from the arctic circle. And if that sounds like your kind of Stallone flick, then know that the story’s script – based on the novel Hunter by James Byron Huggins – will be receiving a film of its own once the actor gets a few more projects out of the way first.

You can expect Rambo 5 to reach cinemas in the fall of 2019, but if you’d care to see Stallone reprise an even more famous role, Rocky spinoff Creed II is set for release on November 21st, 2018.
