John Krasinski Has Reportedly Met With Marvel For An MCU Role

Now that Disney has ownership over the comic book properties that used to belong to Fox, the Fantastic Four will soon get the big screen treatment that they so desperately deserve. After all, Tim Story’s films were entirely forgettable, and Josh Trank’s reboot was not only a huge disaster, but also one of the biggest box office bombs in recent memory. Suffice it to say, then, the supergroup is due for a good movie.

Thankfully, Kevin Feige and his team are more than up to the task and though they’ve been keeping pretty quiet on what they have planned, we do know that a reboot is definitely in the works. Yes, the team is on their way to the MCU and it won’t be long now before we learn which actors will bring them to life.

In fact, while the film isn’t expected to be here until Phase Five at the very earliest, most fans have already decided who they want in the main roles. For one, John Krasinski is a name that’s been constantly put forward for Reed Richards, and it seems like it could actually happen.

According to The Geeks Worldwide, Krasinski has now met with Marvel Studios, though at the moment, they can’t confirm which project it was for. They also can’t confirm if it was for an acting job or something behind the camera. But we imagine that playing Richards was, at the very least, brought up. Even if it’s not exactly what they have in mind.

In any case, it’s hugely exciting to know that The Office star is now in talks with the studio and while nothing is confirmed just yet, Marvel would certainly be smart to snag the actor for their cinematic universe. Be it as part of the Fantastic Four or another role entirely. At this point, we just need John Krasinski in the MCU.

Star Trek: Discovery Movie In The Works, Starts Shooting Soon

We’re still waiting on season 3 to arrive later this year, but we know Star Trek: Discovery has got a bright future ahead of it. It’s previously been revealed that CBS has renewed the show up until season 5 already. And now, further confirmation has come through that the series will be expanding into a whole new medium as well, as according to The GWW, a Discovery movie is on its way.

The outlet reports that ViacomCBS is working on a feature film which will star Sonequa Martin-Green’s Michael Burnham and the rest of the cast of the show. Discovery producers John Weber, Frank Siracusa and Thom Pretak are attached, as are exec producers Alex Kurtzman, Heather Kadin, Aaron Harberts and Akiva Goldsman. It’s believed that the budget for the project is sitting around around $60-80 million.

What’s more, this isn’t just a concept to be made into a reality later down the line. Principal photography is reportedly due to kick off as soon as physically possible. Shooting is said to begin immediately after the current lockdown, brought about by the COVID-19 outbreak, has ended.

Of course, The GWW’s report confirms We Got This Covered’s own scoop from back in March when we told you that CBS were developing a Discovery movie. Few plot details have been revealed as yet, though we’ve heard there’s a possibility of some kind of crossover with the Kelvin timeline – though we’ll have to see if that goes anywhere. Given the close production start, presumably it would fit into continuity between seasons 3 and 4 of the series, but that’s yet to be confirmed.

Speaking of which, we got our first teaser for Discovery season 3 following the Star Trek: Picard season finale, which hinted at Burnham and the others finding themselves in the far future. Look for that to drop onto CBS All Access later this year.

Android phones will get the COVID-19 tracking updates via Google Play

Google has confirmed that it will use the Google Play Services infrastructure to update Android phones with the upcoming COVID-19 contact tracing system it is building in collaboration with Apple. It should ensure that more Android phones will actually get the updates, and also ensure that they become available on phones running Android 6.0 Marshmallow or above.

Until today, it was an open question, but one that was vital for Google to answer. That’s because Google Play is the only reliable system that exists for getting software updates pushed out to Android phones in a timely manner. The other way — full operating system updates — is often fraught with delays from both carriers and manufacturers.

New customers signing up for Amazon Fresh or Whole Foods Market home delivery will now need to make it through a waitlist before they can order groceries. Amazon announced the new procedure yesterday, adding that the company is “increasing capacity each week and will invite new customers to shop every week.” Select Whole Foods locations will have store hours adjusted “to focus exclusively on fulfilling online grocery orders during this time,” and Amazon notes that its own full-fledged grocery store is now open in Woodland Hills, California, but is solely focused on online orders and delivery for now.

Delivery windows for Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods Market have been increasingly difficult to secure during the COVID-19 pandemic, and...

T’Challa Will Reportedly Get Married To [SPOILERS] In Black Panther 3

Despite the character’s solo debut becoming the most successful entry in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that wasn’t an Avengers movie, many fans feel that Black Panther was sidelined during the events of Infinity War and Endgame. Wakanda may have been a featured location during the former’s third act, but T’Challa was reduced to a foot-soldier among the ensemble cast, and didn’t appear again until Endgame’s climactic battle.

We won’t be seeing Black Panther again until Phase Five, and even that’s subject to speculation that Marvel could be laying the foundations for Shuri to eventually step up and inherit the mantle as per comic book history, something that Chadwick Boseman reportedly isn’t best pleased about. But now we’ve heard that another story that originated in the pages of Marvel Comics could be set to play a major part in the eventual third Black Panther movie.

According to our sources – the same ones who told us the Guardians of the Galaxy will cameo in Thor: Love and Thunder and that Taskmaster would be the villain in Black Widow – Storm will be among the first X-Men to be introduced into the MCU, specifically to build to her and T’Challa crossing paths and eventually developing a relationship. This will lead to the two getting married in Black Panther 3, much like they did in 2006 in the pages of Black Panther Vol. 4, and the prospect of domestic bliss will see the king pass on ownership of his costumed alter-ego to Shuri, establishing her as Wakanda’s new protector.

Of course, the vast majority of what happens in the MCU has a basis in comic book history and this would serve as an avenue to introduce one of the newly-acquired Fox characters into the universe as well as giving us an all-superhero wedding, which would be one hell of a party. As always plans can certainly change as things develop, but for right now, this is the arc that the studio is planning to have T’Challa travel down and while it’s unclear when exactly he’ll first meet Storm, the idea at the moment is to have them eventually marry, at which point Chadwick Boseman’s hero will pass on the Black Panther mantle to Shuri.
