Avengers: Endgame wraps up every film in the MCU to date, but one movie that’s always felt like an outlier of the franchise is 2010’s The Incredible Hulk. Mark Ruffalo taking over from Edward Norton in The Avengers left its canonicity shaky, though William Hurt later returned as General Ross – now Secretary of State – in both Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War.
Now, we’re hearing that another character from Incredible Hulk could be returning at some point in the future, alongside Ross. We Got This Covered has heard from our sources that Marvel still has plans for William Hurt in the franchise, as well as Abomination AKA Emil Blonsky, the Green Goliath’s nemesis in the movie who was played by Tim Roth in his human form.
That’s all we can say for now, but it’s worth mentioning that we’ve also heard Marvel’s working on a Thunderbolts movie. Seeing as Ross typically acts as the leader of the Thunderbolts in his Red Hulk form, it makes sense that the studio’s plans for the character could include Hurt returning for that project. Interestingly, we were also told that the Leader would be the main villain of this film – another character last seen in Incredible Hulk. Given that, Abomination would also fit very snugly into this project. But that’s just conjecture for now.
We didn’t think it would happen, then, but it sounds like Marvel is keen to reintegrate The Incredible Hulk into the franchise a decade later. Likewise, it also seems like the studio wants to expand the Hulk mythos further, too. We also reported that a She-Hulk/Hulk team-up show is being considered for Disney Plus, with Ruffalo probably reprising his role. Not to mention those rumors that Amadeus Cho – AKA Totally Awesome Hulk – could show up in Spider-Man: Far From Home.
We’ll let you know as soon as we hear anything further on this, but tell us, do you want to see more of The Incredible Hulk‘s characters in the MCU? Join the conversation in the comments section down below.
