Here’s When The Avengers: Endgame Review Embargo Lifts

More than any other Marvel movie before it, a lot’s resting on Avengers: EndgameAfter Avengers: Infinity War became a huge cultural milestone upon its release last April, both Marvel Studios and the legion of fans out there are hoping that the sequel can match or even surpass the impact IW made exactly one year later. We’ve been told to expect big things, but it’s still too early for us to have any idea whether or not it’ll live up to the hype.

We should find out soon enough, though, as MCU Cosmic’s Jeremy Conrad was asked on Twitter when the social media and review embargo for Endgame lifts and he confirmed that it’ll be April 23rd. Specifically, at 3pm in the afternoon Pacific Time.

As everyone who’s counting down the days will know, that’s just three days prior to Endgame’s theatrical release. In most cases, if a movie left the embargo up as long as this we’d take it as a warning sign that the studio isn’t expecting critics to say kind things. However, it’s clear in this instance that Marvel’s holding out for as long as possible in order to preserve spoilers.

In fact, the studio’s using the same process they did last year. IW‘s embargo was lifted on April 24th, which was also three days before the third Avengers flick dropped, on April 27th. That turned out to be a good call, too, as most of us who went in on opening weekend were able to experience the story without too much preconception. Hopefully the same will be true this time around and Avengers: Endgame will blow us away as much as we want it to.
