It sounds like something straight out of a movie: an unsatisfied bank programmer discovers the perfect scheme for making an ATM spit out free money.

But apparently, this story is true: The South China Morning Post and China’s Daily Economic News report that 43-year-old Qin Qisheng managed to withdraw over 7 million yuan (upwards of $1 million USD) from ATMs operated by his employer, Huaxia Bank — all by exploiting a crazy loophole.

According to the reports, the bank’s system didn’t properly record withdrawals made around midnight — effectively spitting out cash without removing the total from a user’s account. Normally, that might send up a red flag that a transaction had failed, but Qisheng allegedly inserted scripts into the system...

Oculus VR’s next-generation Rift headset may be called the “Rift S,” according to Upload VR, which says it’s found new filenames in Oculus’ PC application that support the naming scheme. Additionally, Upload VR reports that setting options in a new version of the user interface code suggest that the device will have cameras built-in, which would mean users don’t need to use external cameras for tracking, as is the case with the current Rift.

Even after Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox is complete, Disney doesn’t plan to shut down the studio’s production of R-rated movies like Deadpool, Disney CEO Bob Iger said today. Disney has long been opposed to releasing R-rated films, or doing anything that could tarnish its family-friendly image, so approving the edgier superhero films, which have found success with fans and at the box office, is a major change of pace.

Deadpool and Deadpool 2 were box-office and critical successes for 21st Century Fox, which Disney has been working to acquire since late 2017. But apparently, this story is true: The South China Morning Post and China’s Daily Economic News report that 43-year-old Qin Qisheng managed to withdraw over 7 million yuan (upwards of $1 million USD) from ATMs operated by his employer, Huaxia Bank — all by exploiting a crazy loophole.

According to the reports, the bank’s system didn’t properly record withdrawals made around midnight — effectively spitting out cash without removing the total from a user’s account. Oculus VR’s next-generation Rift headset may be called the “Rift S,” according to Upload VR, which says it’s found new filenames in Oculus’ PC application that support the naming scheme. Additionally, Upload VR reports that setting options in a new version of the user interface code suggest that the device will have cameras built-in, which would mean users don’t need to use external cameras for tracking, as is the case with the current Rift.

New Promo Photo For Child’s Play Reboot Teases This Week’s Trailer

Later this week, we’ll finally get our first proper look at the new incarnation of everyone’s favorite homicidal doll, Chucky. This latest Child’s Play movie will be a significant one, too, as it marks a branching of the franchise, with the reboot acting as the start of a new continuity and the original story that began in the 1988 film continuing on in Syfy’s planned Child’s Play TV show.

This is hardly an amicable parting of the ways though, as unfortunately, MGM have decided to move forward with the project without the blessing of series creator Don Mancini. In an interview back in December, he explained that he wasn’t too happy about that (no kidding) and said the following:

“MGM retained the rights to the first movie, so they’re rebooting that. They asked David Kirschner and I if we wanted to be executive producers. We said no thank you, because we have our ongoing thriving business with Chucky. Obviously my feelings were hurt… I did create the character and nurture the franchise for three fucking decades… So when someone says, ‘Oh yeah, we would love to have your name on the film’… it was hard not to feel like I was being patronized. They just wanted our approval. Which I strenuously denied them.”

Still, the reboot is coming – whether Mancini likes it or not – and now, to tease the debut of the first trailer, we have a haunting new image which you can check out in the gallery down below.

Already, the new Chucky has been met with considerable backlash, with Mancini speaking for many a few months ago when he tweeted the old Mariah Carey putdown, “I don’t know her.” Indeed, MGM’s decision to hit the franchise reset button without his involvement has angered a lot of people, and understandably so.

As such, when we finally do get to see the new Chucky in action via this week’s trailer, it’ll surely be a make-or-break moment for many. But regardless of whether Child’s Play can shake off the bad buzz that currently surrounds it, one thing you can be sure of is that the film will be heading into theaters on June 21st, 2019.
