ESPN+, Disney’s standalone premium subscription service for sports fans, now has over 2 million subscribers. Disney CEO Bob Iger announced the latest growth stat during his company’s quarterly earnings call this afternoon.
ESPN+ was launched back in April for $4.99 per month or $49.99 for an annual membership. The service, which is powered by Disney’s BAMTech division, offers “hundreds of MLB, NHL and MLS games, Grand Slam tennis, Top Rank boxing, PGA Tour golf, college sports, international rugby, cricket, the full library of ESPN Films including 30 for 30, and more.” It also touts original content like Detail with Peyton Manning and LeBron James’ More Than An Athlete.
