Shang-Chi Producer Teases Abomination’s MCU Future

One of the biggest surprises to come out of the first trailer for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings trailer was the appearance of Abomination, a character many believed had been lost to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s sands of time following the release of The Incredible Hulk.

Of course, that all changed when Tim Roth was announced to be returning to the franchise as part of Disney Plus series She-Hulk, but nobody could have predicted that the monstrous villain would swing by Destin Daniel Cretton’s martial arts fantasy blockbuster. Not only that, but he’s set to throw down opposite Doctor Strange’s colleague Wong, in what’s going to be an interesting clash of styles to say the least.

In a new interview, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings producer Jonathan Schwartz was asked if Abomination’s role in the movie will set up She-Hulk in any way, to which he could only reply with a mysterious “all will be revealed”. Wong is set to be part of both Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but things are much murkier in regards to Emil Blonsky’s gamma-radiated alter-ego.

She-Hulk has been described as a half-hour legal comedy, so maybe we’ll be seeing Blonsky on trial for something he does in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and not The Incredible Hulk as was previously expected. Good things come to those who wait, but it looks as though we could be questioning Abomination’s future right up until Tatiana Maslany’s Jennifer Walters debuts on streaming next year.

Dominique Thorne’s Riri Williams will debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever as the build towards Ironheart begins, Sam Wilson is already established as the new Captain America, Clint Barton will hand off the bow and arrow to Kate Bishop in Hawkeye, Bruce Banner’s cousin Jennifer Walters gets her own Disney Plus series when She-Hulk arrives next year, Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster will prove herself worthy of Mjolnir in Thor: Love and Thunder, while Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova was confirmed to be picking up the Black Widow mantle long before the movie was released.

The Academy Award nominee was singled out as a highlight of Phase Four’s feature length opener, and as difficult as it would be to replace Scarlett Johansson, the fans would more than likely be on board with the idea. Vikings Star Reportedly Eyed For Acclaimed Horror Adaptation

The horror genre can always be relied on to post a strong showing at the box office, because the visceral thrills that come with being scared out of your seat in a packed cinema remains one of the best communal aspects of the theatrical experience.

Admittedly, not all of the efforts to swamp the marketplace on an annual basis are of the highest quality, but next year’s Dark Harvest possesses plenty of terrifying potential. Norman Partridge’s source novel won the Bram Stoker Award in 2006, and the project was placed into development earlier this year with Casey Likes and E’myri Crutchfield in the lead roles.

The story opens in 1962, and revolves around a strange ritual called The Run that happens every Halloween in a small Midwestern town. You see, there’s a pumpkin-headed monster named Sawtooth Jack who rises from a cornfield every October, and local teenage boys are sent to chase him down, but very few of them survive. The winner gets a new car and a house for their family, but young Richie Shepard discovers some disturbing truths when his turn rolls around.

A new report offers that Vikings and Warcraft star Travis Fimmel is in talks to play Officer Jerry Ricks in Dark Harvest, who goes out of his way to try and ensure that Richie meets his end at the hands of Sawtooth Jack, putting the kid in serious danger on two fronts.

Vikings showed that Fimmel has plenty of smoldering charisma to spare, and it’s not a coincidence the show got noticeably weaker following his departure. 30 Days of Night and Hannibal‘s David Slade sounds like an excellent choice to direct Dark Harvest, which is coming to theaters in September 2022.

Pierce Brosnan Endorses Bridgerton Star As The Next James Bond

Pierce Brosnan may have admitted that he’s tired of people asking him who he thinks should be the next James Bond, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to stop. The actor will always be remembered as one of the superior versions of the iconic secret agent, so his opinion is always going to carry plenty of weight.

You never hear about George Lazenby or Timothy Dalton being asked for their thoughts on the future of 007, but anytime Brosnan has a new movie to promote, you get the feeling he prepares himself for the inevitable onslaught of questions. That’s more true than ever now that No Time to Die is finally gearing up to draw the Daniel Craig era to a close, right around the time Brosnan is on the press circuit for Amazon’s upcoming Cinderella.

One of the recent contenders to emerge as a front-runner has been Bridgerton‘s breakout star Regé-Jean Page, who isn’t returning for Season 2 of the Netflix smash hit, while making a concerted move into the blockbuster business by signing on to the Russo brothers’ The Gray Man, Dungeons & Dragons and a reboot of The Saint, with Simon Templar originally and ironically played by former Bond Roger Moore in the 1960s..

In a new interview, Brosnan was put forth the prospect of Page inheriting the tux from Daniel Craig, and he seemed fairly receptive.

“Good luck, good luck. I think he would be wonderful.”

That’s about as much of a detailed answer as we can expect from Brosnan these days, but it’ll do. It’s been almost five years since Spectre was released, with No Time to Die marking the second-longest gap between James Bond installments ever. The wait for the next one might be even longer, though, especially when you get the impression Amazon and Eon have very different ideas on how to proceed with the series.

M. Night Shyamalan Reveals He’s Already Writing His Next Movie

It’s less than six weeks since M. Night Shyamalan‘s Old hit theaters, where it topped the box office in its first weekend, but the filmmaker is already hard at work on his next screenplay. His most recent effort scored mixed reviews, currently sitting on a bang average Rotten Tomatoes score of 50%, but having earned close to $85 million at the box office on an $18 million budget, it can’t be called anything other than a pandemic-era smash hit.

Ever since The Sixth Sense shot Shyamalan from his status as a relative unknown to being labeled cinema’s latest wunderkind, his creativity has always tended to come in fits and starts. His next three features arrived within five years of Haley Joel Osment seeing dead people, but since the release of Glass in January 2017, we’ve only seen Unbreakable crossover Glass and now Old in the last half a decade.

However, Shyamalan recently took to social media and revealed that he’s already on the third draft of his next project, one that’s shaping up to be a lean and mean effort given the current script is under 100 pages, as you can see below.

Glass and Old didn’t garner the same critical enthusiasm that greeted The Visit and Split, but it’d be an understatement to say that Shyamalan’s output has been plagued by inconsistency for a long time.
