Watch: Disney Releases Kylo Vs. Rey Fight Scene From Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, while divisive among fans, had many unforgettable action sequences, and one of them showed how Rey, the prodigy of the Force, would match up against Kylo Ren after relentlessly training for a year.

As part of the promotional campaign for the home release of Episode IX, Lucasfilm has shared several clips from some of the defining instances in the last movie of the Skywalker Saga, including the return of Han Solo, Luke and Leia training together, and Rey and Ben teaming up to stand against Emperor Palpatine. Now, it’s time to relive the moment of truth when Rey and Kylo came face to face one last time on the ruins of the Death Star on one of Endor’s moons.

To give you some context, Rey and the team realize that the Sith Pathfinder is in a vault in the ruins of the Death Star II. So they travel to Kef Bir and locate the planet-destroying station. After finding Darth Sidious’ Throne Room, Rey receives a vision of her Dark Side counterpart, before getting interrupted by Kylo who had followed her there. The two then engage in yet another lightsaber battle, this time to settle the old score.

As you can see in the clip above, Rey and Kylo are both equally skilled at swinging a lightsaber and using the Force. Still, if it weren’t for Leia, Kylo would have killed Rey as he eventually managed to get the upper hand and throw his opponent down.

Unfortunately, though, these duels between Rey and Kylo are the only lightsaber action you can expect to see in the last entry of the saga. It would’ve been cool to have Palpatine use his red lightsaber again after so long, but the producers ultimately decided to go with his signature weapon of Force lightning.

In any event, if you haven’t been able to go see Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in theaters, you can catch the digital edition or the Blu-ray disc when they arrive on March 17th and March 31st, respectively.

WeChat has been censoring keywords about coronavirus, study finds

Illustration by Alex Castro / The Verge

China’s most popular messaging app, Tencent-owned WeChat, has been censoring keywords about coronavirus since as early as January 1st, an analysis found. Popular Chinese livestreaming platform YY has been censoring coronavirus content, too.

To make this determination, the research group Citizen Lab scripted group chat conversations and sent them to three test WeChat accounts, two in Canada and one in China. The chat conversations consisted of article headlines and text. The group, which is affiliated with the University of Toronto, sent them from one of the Canadian WeChat accounts to the Chinese one, and observed which messages the Chinese account got. 132 keyword combinations were censored in January, but that number rose to 516...

Chinese Box Office Takes Massive Hit As Coronavirus Crisis Spreads

The Coronavirus crisis continues to get worse and shows little signs of slowing down. Now, it seems the Chinese box office has become infected, taking a considerable hit as a result of this alarming ordeal.

The Coronavirus has already started affecting the world’s economy, and it was only a matter of time before the film industry started feeling the effects. China, the second-largest moviegoing market on the planet, is now less focused on the next big release, having prioritized their concerns toward public health and safety. This has led to box office losses that have surpassed $200 million and counting.

According to Variety, since the COVID-19 virus first appeared two months ago in Wuhan, China, the country’s box office has lost an estimated total of $214 million. Part of the efforts to contain the spread of the Coronavirus involves shutting down movie theaters, which has lead to box office receipts totaling a measly $31.3 million for January and February. The deputy secretary-general of the Beijing municipal government, Chen Bei, had this to say on the situation:

“Judging from the current situation, the film industry is not equipped to resume business yet, and we have not approved industry’s demands to resume business as of now.”

Films like Dolittle, Jojo Rabbit, 1917, Little Women and Sonic the Hedgehog have all had to delay their release because of the outbreak. Things will continue to get even more distressing, too, as Mulan, No Time To Die, A Quiet Place: Part II and Black Widow are all set to debut in the coming months and their final numbers could be drastically affected by this unfortunate series of events.

And it’s not just the releases that are being impacted, but the productions as well. Film crews consisting of 50 people or less are allowed to shoot in Beijing but under stringent conditions. Elsewhere, Mission: Impossible 7 recently delayed shooting in Italy because of the Coronavirus and the Falcon and the Winter Soldier reportedly had to do some rewrites because of the outbreak.

This frightening situation hasn’t been ruled as a pandemic just yet, but that could still happen if robust action is not taken to contain the virus. Let’s just all hope that this Coronavirus crisis comes to an end very soon before it can do any more damage than it’s already done.

Here’s How Tom Holland Could Look In A Back To The Future Reboot

Popular fandom artist and Twitter user BossLogic has posted his take on what Tom Holland would look like as Marty McFly in a Back to the Future reboot.

Of course, the exceptionally convincing picture (seen below) isn’t the first we’ve heard about Holland in Back to the Future. A recent deepfake video cast the Spider-Man actor as Marty alongside fellow Marvel Cinematic Universe star Robert Downey Jr. as Doc Brown. As to be expected, this immediately created a significant online cry for Holland to star in a reboot of the popular 1980s sci-fi series. And it’s not the first time, either. Fans have been clamoring for more adventures with Marty and Doc for a while now.

Sadly, as much as we’d all love to see Hollywood’s favorite web slinger as Marty McFly, producer Bob Gale is a lot less enthusiastic about the prospect. Despite being consistently approached about rebooting or extending Back to the Future, Gale has remained adamant that the series not continue so long as he’s alive and breathing. During a recent BBC News discussion, he went on record stating:

You know, you don’t sell your kids into prostitution. It was the wrong thing to do. We put ‘The End’ at the end of part three… Plus Michael J. Fox isn’t in the shape to do a movie, and nobody wants to see Marty McFly having Parkinson’s disease, and nobody wants to see another actor playing Marty McFly if it’s supposed to be a continuation.

Even Holland, who has stated that he’s had discussions about rebooting the franchise, has also made it very clear that Back to the Future is a “perfect movie” – one that he wouldn’t be interested in remaking.

While we may not see a full reboot of Back to the Future anytime soon, then, the incredible success of the original film spawned two solid sequels, a short-lived animated series, and even a Telltale game series. Not to mention that after a long time in development, John Rando’s Back to the Future musical opened at Manchester Opera House on February 20th of this year and will follow up with a run through London and then West End.

The most disturbing video game cosmetic is this Call of Duty Tamagotchi that feeds off your kills

Image: Activision

Players of Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare are getting perhaps the most tonally jarring cosmetic option in the history of shooting games with the introduction of the “Tomogunchi,” a parody of the iconic Japanese digital pet watches launched back in 1996.

Similar to Bandai’s original Tamagotchi, these in-game wristwatches feature a virtual pet that hatches from an egg — the screenshots show a cat, a panda, and what looks like a dragon. You then have to take care of the creature, or else it may end up perishing due to neglect. You can feed it, keep tabs on its emotional state, and even help it grow and eventually evolve.

The dark comedy here is that all of this has to be done not on a physical product, but on a virtual version...
