Green Arrow Will Reportedly Debut In The DCEU Soon

Though the popular television series Arrow will be coming to a close following its eighth season, and the Oliver Queen character has been confirmed to die during this fall’s “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover, it looks like that won’t be the last time we ever see the bow-wielding hero.

A source close to We Got This Covered has revealed that Warner Bros. is planning on bringing Green Arrow into the DCEU sometime soon. And surely to the distaste of Arrow fans, the company’s looking to recast Stephen Amell in the role with a big name actor.

Of course, we don’t have any confirming details on who may be in contention for the part just yet, but it’s sounding like the character will make his big screen debut in the rumored standalone Black Canary movie.

Given the several mini-verses that the DCEU looks to be heading towards, it’s possible that we’ll see the fan favorite hero get his own mini cinematic universe one day as well, but for the moment, a project solely dedicated to Ollie Queen doesn’t sound like it’s on the cards. In all likelihood, WB probably wants to wait and see how their new take on Green Arrow is received first before moving ahead with anything further involving him.

In any case, while calling the DCEU a total failure may be a bit of a stretch, it’s certainly fair to say that it’s got a lot of catching up to do to reach the commercial and critical success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Shazam! and Aquaman were good starts though, and Todd Phillips’ upcoming Joker looks like it’ll be a great jumping off point for the separated projects that Warner Brothers is looking at doing. Maybe bringing the beloved hooded hero to the franchise will help lead the company’s reputation in a new direction?

Time will tell, but what say you? Would you welcome Green Arrow to your local theater? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
