Avengers: Endgame’s Karen Gillan Threatens Thanos On Social Media

After Thanos wiped out half the population of the universe in Avengers: Infinity War, pretty much everyone in the entire MCU has a reason to be at least a little peeved at the Mad Titan. For his adopted daughter Nebula, however, the grudge is extra personal.

Earlier today, Karen Gillan took to Instagram to share the new Chinese poster for Avengers: Endgame. Her post also came with a caption, in which she quoted Nebula’s famous Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 monologue in full:

“As a child, my father would have Gamora and me battle one another in training. Every time my sister prevailed, my father would replace a piece of me with machinery, claiming he wanted me to be her equal. But she won, again and again and again, never once refraining. So after I murder my sister, I will buy a warship with every conceivable instrument of death. I will hunt my father like a dog and I will tear him apart slowly, piece by piece, until he knows some semblance of the profound and unceasing pain I knew every single day.”

Since the events of the 2017 film, Nebula’s hatred of Thanos has only intensified, and we can expect their troubled history to come to a head in next month’s release.

In an interview last year with People, Gillan mentioned that her character will “confront some serious daddy issues” in Endgame. Whether or not this means finally getting her revenge on the purple tyrant remains to be seen, though she’s far from the only character who’ll be out for his blood. For instance, many fans, are predicting that Thor will be the one who delivers the final blow to Thanos, succeeding where he failed at the end of Infinity War.

In any case, while details on Nebula’s Endgame arc are in short supply, Gillan recently offered her assurance to Empire that she’ll be “a character we’re all rooting for,” which may refute the old theory that she’ll replace Thanos as the main villain of the movie. Either way, we’ll find out just what’s in store for the cyborg and her genocidal dad when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th.
