Sprint is partnering with HTC to make a mobile “smart hub” that will run on 5G next year. It’s the second product Sprint has announced for its own nascent next-gen network, but we’re getting very little in the way of concrete details right now.
The device is developed by Sprint, HTC, and Qualcomm in a joint effort. It will use a Qualcomm Snapdragon x50 5G modem with gigabit LTE and 5G capabilities. The device will come to US customers sometime in the first half of 2019. A smart hub seems to imply the device could be used as a mobile hot spot.
