Some new pics from the set of Wonder Woman 1984 give us an early glimpse of Princess Diana of Themyscira’s next foe engaged in a heated battle, though it’s not quite the epic showdown you might expect.
Once more, Kristen Wiig’s character has been spotted in Barbara Ann Minerva’s more mundane form. But while these images look to have been taken from an early point in the villain’s arc – before she’s made the full transformation into Cheetah – it’s apparent that her life already has a little conflict in it, as she looks to be frantically fighting off a man who’s trying to grab her.
It’s not exactly a comic book movie clash for the ages, but for now, we’ll take it.
For a slightly less down-to-Earth moment of action, a set video from a few months ago saw Wiig launching into the sky with the help of some wires. The clip’s a nice demonstration of her character’s ability to jump high, but an image or two of Barbara in full Cheetah mode would be even better.
When it comes to the hero of the story, the internet has been a little more forthcoming with pics and clips, including a leaked image of Wonder Woman’s stylish new outfit. And for those who attended the San-Diego Comic Con earlier this year, an entire set piece was viewable, which featured Diana battling some gunmen in an ‘80s shopping mall.
Official Wonder Woman 1984 news has been few and far between lately, so we’ll just have to keep reminding ourselves that all will be revealed by the time the film hits theaters on November 1st, 2019. In the meantime, the DCEU’s Aquaman will be coming our way on December 21st of this year, followed by Shazam! on April 5th, 2019.
