No Time To Die Ending Explained: What Next For James Bond?

Obviously, we’ll be diving into the jaw-dropping finale of No Time to Die, so consider this your sole spoiler warning. With that out the way, it’s time to consider what the shocking ending of James Bond’s 25th cinematic outing means for the franchise as a whole, given the events that unfold in the third act.
In a twist nobody saw coming, it’s revealed that 007 fathered a child with Madeleine Swann, who was evidently pregnant when Bond sent her away following the movie’s opening action sequence. This marks the first time that the character has ever been depicted as a father, but it doesn’t last long.

No Time To Die Star Says He’s Open To Joining The MCU

A recurring trend in Hollywood is for actors who’ve recently won an Academy Award to sign on to a big budget blockbuster as one of their first projects in the aftermath, and the more cynical among us might think that the decision is a financially motivated move designed to capitalize on their uptick in popularity and name value.
Halle Berry accepted a $14 million offer to headline Catwoman, which still ranks as one of the worst superhero movies ever made, so it can often be a double-edged sword. However, No Time to Die‘s Rami Malek has been open in admitting that he didn’t need much convincing to play villain Lyutsifer Safin shortly after landing Best Actor for Bohemian Rhapsody, because James Bond has been his favorite franchise since childhood.

Christopher Nolan’s New Movie Gets A Title, Release Date And Star

Very few filmmakers in the industry get the complete creative freedom and carte blanche to craft their movies in exactly the way they want without a single shred of studio interference, but Christopher Nolan has been operating in that rarefied air for a while now.
That’s to be expected when his name alone is often enough to sell a project to the masses, without even mentioning the billions of box office dollars, widespread critical acclaim and awards season glory that regularly greets his output. His next project was already making waves for taking him away from Warner Bros. for the first time in 20 years, with Universal gleefully acquiescing to his every request after winning an intense bidding war.

Kevin Smith Says Marvel Studios Really Do Have A Secret Police

Even if they’re not promoting one of the studio’s projects, the stars of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will always end up fielding questions about what comes next for the franchise whenever they’re on the press circuit, and many of them are either sworn to complete secrecy or joke about Kevin Feige having snipers on the roof.
According to Kevin Smith, the latter isn’t too far from the truth. Speaking on his Fatman Beyond podcast, the actor and filmmaker revealed the levels of intense security Marvel operate under, which includes what he calls a ‘secret police’ who deliberately leak false information on occasion so that they can find out which of their employees are handing over potentially sensitive information.

A Forgotten Tom Hanks Movie Is Rising Up The Netflix Ranks

Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks are two of the very best at what they do, so any time the director and actor have teamed up over the years, expectations and hype are through the roof. For the most part they’ve delivered, but one project in particular stands out as having largely been lost to the sands of time.
The two Hollywood titans have partnered up on Saving Private Ryan, Catch Me if You Can, Bridge of Spies and The Post, all of which scored major critical and commercial success. On the small screen, Band of Brothers and The Pacific are both regarded as modern TV classics, with AppleTV+ miniseries Masters of the Air currently in production.

Kevin Smith Offers His Thoughts On Venom: Let There Be Carnage

It’s become a running joke that whenever Kevin Smith offers his thoughts on a new movie or TV show that he’s watched, the first question on everyone’s lips is whether it made him cry or not. The View Askewniverse creator wears his heart on his sleeve, and he’s often reduced to a bubbling wreck by even the most trivial of projects.
At various points Smith has revealed that Bill & Ted Face the Music, the Season 1 finale of Marvel’s What If…?, Wonder Woman 1984 and even the trailer for Transformers spinoff Bumblebee had brought him to tears, but the same can’t be said of superhero sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

No Time To Die Producer Addresses Possible Spinoffs

When Amazon first acquired MGM, it didn’t take long for the rumor mill to spring into action and claim that a James Bond cinematic universe was in the works, with a myriad of characters set to headline their own spinoffs that would expand the mythology surrounding 007.
While that’s a neat idea in practice, Eon Productions’ Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson have no intention of letting it happen. The duo have resisted many TV show offers over the decades, and they still retain a huge level of creative control that they won’t be giving up, even under new management.

Watch: The 355 Trailer Reveals Star-Studded Action Movie

The last time Jessica Chastain produced and took top billing in action movie, the end result was Ava, a promising spy thriller that boasted a stacked ensemble cast and a solid premise. Unfortunately, the finished product was fairly terrible and widely panned by critics and audiences alike.
The last time Simon Kinberg directed a feature film, we got the biggest box office bomb of 2019 and arguably the worst installment in the entire thirteen-film X-Men franchise thanks to Dark Phoenix. Based on their recent track records, the prospect of seeing the duo teaming up is enough to generate as much worry as excitement, but the trailer for The 355 does at least look to promise a fun time at the movies.

No Time To Die Director Explains How He Convinced Daniel Craig To Shoot Long Takes

Cary Joji Fukunaga’s stint at the helm of True Detective is held up as one of the best single seasons of television from the last decade, and rightfully so. Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey are incredible as Marty Hart and Rust Cohle, and the show deservedly won rave reviews and awards season recognition.
The fourth episode is famed for its six-minute tracking shot that unfolds during an intense drug bust, and Fukunaga has sought to replicate it to some degree in No Time to Die. During the movie’s third act, Daniel Craig’s James Bond is battling against Lyutsifer Safin’s henchmen on the villain’s island lair, and as 007 makes his way up a stairwell he dispatches a series of goons in what’s been edited to look like one long, unbroken take.

Awesome What If…? Fan Poster Imagines Live-Action Marvel Zombies

The entire selling point of Marvel’s What If…? comes from infinite possibilities, with the Disney Plus series entirely predicated on telling stories or revisiting events from a different perspective that the cinematic universe wouldn’t even consider touching in live-action.
The show is multiversal in nature, so it’s technically official canon without having a direct impact on the overall mythology, and that allowed the nine episodes to take some unexpected twists and turns. One of the most notable saw Marvel Zombies brought to life, with the majority of the MCU’s most important heroes finding themselves transformed into shuffling hordes of the undead.

A Russell Crowe Classic Is Dominating Netflix

At the turn of the millennium, Russell Crowe was hardly a complete unknown, but he arguably hadn’t yet proven himself as genuine leading man material. He was excellent in classic crime thriller L.A. Confidential, and landed an Academy Award nomination for Michael Mann’s 1999 drama The Insider, but he was still seeking a role that would take his career to the next level.
He found that and then some in Ridley Scott’s Gladiator, which proved to be so popular that it spawned an entire wave of imitators, with the big budget historical epic suddenly back in fashion having lain dormant for decades. Crowe’s Maximus infiltrated popular culture almost instantly, and you know you’ve made it when your character becomes widely and mercilessly parodied across all forms of media.

No Time To Die Star Explains How She Built A Brand New 007

Lashana Lynch knew from the second she signed on to play Nomi in No Time to Die that she would be facing vitriolic and very troubling backlash, for the sole reason that she was a black woman playing 007. Certain subsets were up in arms at the news and fired awful abuse in her direction, but the actress took it all in her stride.
The dissenters should have really waited to see the movie for themselves, because Lynch is great in the film. A more than capable agent, her back-and-forth banter with Daniel Craig’s James Bond is a recurring highlight, especially when the duo are constantly engaged in figurative d*ck-measuring over who makes the better 007.

No Time To Die Has One Of The Most Expensive Marketing Campaigns Ever

As a handsome, charming and charismatic secret agent that’s always dressed to impress, who uses a wide array of high tech gadgets to defeat the bad guys before almost always getting the girl in the end, James Bond radiates luxury. No Time to Die may have been delayed by eighteen months, but it’s set to score a bumper opening weekend at the box office, all while the movie’s promotional partners rub their hands in glee.
As per Deadline, the marketing campaign for No Time to Die is estimated to have run up a $150 million tab, putting it on a par with Marvel Cinematic Universe behemoths Avengers: Infinity War and Spider-Man: Far From Home. Looking at the list of top-tier brands to have joined forces with 007 for ads across all forms of media, you can see why the studio are pushing the boat out.

Expendables 4 Set Photos Reveal First Look At Megan Fox

When the cast for The Expendables 4 was announced, one name stood out above all others as the biggest surprise. Of course, we were all expecting at least a handful of the franchise stalwarts to return, with Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Randy Couture and Dolph Lundgren acting as the legacy players.
50 Cent has starred in his fair share of action movies over the years, while Tony Jaa is one of the finest martial artists in cinema that’s never really been given the opportunity to show what he can do in a Hollywood production, but nobody really expected Megan Fox to tool up and report for duty alongside the aging band of action heroes.

Anthony Mackie Pitches A Great Idea For Real Steel 2

A largely forgotten blockbuster that’s barely rated Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with 60% and failed to crack $300 million at the box office hardly sounds like the sort of project that would generate fervent sequel hopes a decade down the line, but it would be an understatement to say the popularity of Real Steel has soared recently.
The robot boxing adventure spent weeks dominating Netflix’s Top 10 most-watched list last year, with director Shawn Levy admitting he’d considered talking to the studio about mounting a sequel, and he wants his Free Guy star Ryan Reynolds to get in on the action to share the screen with his online arch-nemesis Hugh Jackman.

Percy Jackson Creator Developing New Fantasy Movie For Disney Plus

Fans are starting to get a little impatient waiting for official news on the Percy Jackson series in the works at Disney Plus, when it was first announced almost a year and a half ago, but all we’ve heard since then are a string of fairly vague updates from author Rick Riordan.
The creator of the literary fantasy franchise is heavily involved in the development process, which is good news when neither he nor audiences were particularly keen on the previous pair of Percy Jackson movies, although it’s still taking the Mouse House an awfully long time to get their ducks in a row and firm up a production and release schedule.

What If…? Writer Reveals How Age Of Ultron Inspired The Finale

Most Marvel Cinematic Universe fans would probably agree that Age of Ultron is the weakest of the four Avengers movies, one that marked the head-on collision between writer and director Joss Whedon’s push for creative autonomy, and the desire on the studio’s part to ensure that the mandated plot beats were hit and connective tissue established.
It’s not a terrible film by any stretch of the imagination, just a disappointment after the soaring highs of The Avengers three years previously. Of course, it still made $1.4 billion at the box office because this is the MCU we’re talking about, but it left plenty of audiences feeling cold once the credits started rolling.

Jake Gyllenhaal Starring In New Comic Book Movie From Extraction Director

Jake Gyllenhaal revealed that his anxiety issues caused him to mess up a number of takes during his first day of shooting Spider-Man: Far From Home, which marked his first role in a big budget studio project for a decade. However, he’s clearly overcome any self-doubt having added another high profile actioner to his slate on top of Michael Bay’s Ambulance and ambitious fantasy Oblivion Song.
As per Deadline, the Academy Award nominee will play the title character in comic book adaptation Prophet, which was created by Deadpool architect Rob Liefeld. If that wasn’t exciting enough, Extraction director Sam Hargrave is also on board, with an eye on making it his next feature once he wraps Chris Hemsworth’s Netflix sequel.

Tom Hardy Teases Plans For More Venom Sequels

A sequel to Ruben Fleischer’s Venom was announced less than a month after the movie hit theaters in October 2018, so by that logic we should expect a follow up for Andy Serkis’ Let There Be Carnage to be given the green light in a matter of weeks, especially when you consider Tom Hardy’s second outing as Eddie Brock scored an even bigger opening weekend at the box office than its predecessor despite the pandemic.
Of course, fans will be hoping that a certain a crossover comes first, but that’s entirely dependent on what the brain trust at both Sony and Marvel Studios have in store. We’re getting Venom and Spider-Man sharing the screen, that much has been confirmed, we just don’t know when we’ll get to see it or how the two will eventually cross paths.

No Time To Die Director Has An Idea For Another James Bond Movie

Plenty of long-running franchises tend to mix it up behind the camera with each new installment, but that hasn’t typically been the case for James Bond. A dozen directors have each helmed at least one entry in the long-running spy saga, but that’s less than you might think for a property that’s 25 films deep and celebrates its 60th anniversary next year.
That being said, the earlier days of 007’s big screen adventures possessed a much greater sense of continuity than the modern era, with fifteen of the first sixteen movies being directed by either Terence Young, Guy Hamilton, Lewis Gilbert or John Glen. Sam Mendes became the first filmmaker in 23 years to helm back-to-back Bonds when he followed up Skyfall with Spectre, while Martin Campbell remains the only other name to have called the shots on more than one film since 1989.

Inhumans Star Names The Marvel Superhero They’d Love To Play

Whichever way you want to cut it, Marvel Studios trying to adapt Inhumans for live-action was a disaster. The feature film version remains the only project in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that was announced and given a release date, but never actually made it out of development hell.
The concept was then refitted as the basis for an eight-episode miniseries that aired on NBC, which was quite simply terrible. Ratings plummeted on a weekly basis, reviews blasted the cheap-looking costumes and dull plotting, and it was canceled after a single season having already earned a reputation as the single worst piece of film or television content that’s ever been put out during the Kevin Feige era.

Shang-Chi Star Responds To Criticism Of The Movie’s Ending

With the exception of Loki‘s Season 1 finale, all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s live-action Phase Four projects so far have failed to stick the landing, offering up conclusions that underwhelmed rather than enthused.
The final episodes of WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier are the lowest-rated installments on Rotten Tomatoes, with both shows rushing through a number of plot points too quickly and forcing in spectacle for the sake of it. On the big screen, Black Widow and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings each favored CGI bombast over plot and character in their respective third acts, with the effects-heavy action seemingly an obligation.

Star Trek Actor Would Love To Star In A Dark Green Lantern Movie

Even though it’s been ten years and change since the infamous box office bomb hit theaters, Ryan Reynolds will never let us forget how terrible Green Lantern was. Director Martin Campbell also repeatedly blasted his own movie a couple of months back, making it increasingly likely that the future of the comic book favorite lies on the small screen.
Reboot Green Lantern Corps was announced in late 2014 as part of the DCEU, but it eventually faded away into the ether of development hell to be replaced by the upcoming HBO Max series. Putting one of the Lanterns front and center in a feature film would only invite comparisons to the 2011 disaster, so an episodic project focusing on multiple ring bearers set across different time periods was about the smartest way to wipe the slate clean.

Jake Gyllenhaal Reveals Intense Discussions Over Length Of Mysterio’s Beard

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has become increasingly collaborative, with filmmakers more heavily involved in the creative process than they were during the early days of Phases One and Two, where several talents to have worked with the franchise lamented the restrictions put in place to ensure that everything ended up tying together into one overarching narrative at the expense of creative individuality.
The actors have also reaped the benefits of being allowed greater freedom to put their own stamp on their characters, although not everyone gets the same sort of leeway as a Robert Downey Jr. or a Chris Hemsworth. A case in point is Spider-Man: Far From Home villain Jake Gyllenhaal, who revealed during a recent interview with Howard Stern that he had some intense and ridiculous conversations with Marvel about something so trivial as the length of Quentin Beck’s beard.
