“Where is Google’s Pixel 4A?” That’s the question we asked two weeks ago, bringing you up to speed on how Google had seemingly missed the typical window to release its thoroughly-leaked followup to the company’s impressive but short-battery-lived Pixel 4 flagship.

But a new FCC filing today, spotted by XDA-Developers, suggests the more affordable Pixel 4A is nigh.

Technically, it’s not a given that the Google phone newly authorized by the Federal Communications Commission actually is the Pixel 4A, nor that Google is actually going to announce it anytime soon, if ever.

Ford’s new F-150 revealed with hands-free driving and hybrid options

Ford has revealed the 2021 model of the F-150, and many buyers will find the newest version of the automaker’s super popular pickup truck stuffed with technology. The new F-150 will have an optional hands-free driving mode, be capable of receiving over-the-air software updates, and come with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The company will also start selling a hybrid version of the 2021 F-150 that can travel about 700 miles on a full tank of gas.

The hands-free driving feature — which Ford calls “Active Drive Assist” — is the same that’s coming to the Mustang Mach-E electric SUV next year. That will make the F-150 one of the only vehicles in the US that has hands-free driving when the feature is available, along with Cadillac’s...

Facebook has a fringe conspiracy theory problem, and it’s getting worse by the day. According to a new investigation from The Guardian, the far-right QAnon movement continues to flourish on the social network, despite its attempts last month to begin removing accounts and pages promoting it.

The investigation, by journalist Julie Carrie Wong, details in depth how QAnon account and page owners caught wind of Facebook’s crackdown in early May and the clever methods they relied on to avoid detection. Earlier today, Verizon announced its participation in a growing advertising boycott of Facebook and Instagram, in part it appears because its ads continue to show up next to QAnon content.

New Details On Darkseid’s War In Justice League Snyder Cut Revealed

Just last week, Zack Snyder tweeted a sneak peek teaser for his cut of Justice League. It featured Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman looking at some inscriptions on a wall, followed by a glimpse of Darkseid himself. And now, thanks to one industrious Twitter user, we have a translated version of some of the text that appeared in the video.

The text written in Ancient Greek was seen on the Shrine of the Amazons, which Wonder Woman discovers in the clip, and the translation – by Twitter user Unity_514 – hints at the backstory of Darkseid. It seems like Zeus commanded Ares to kill Darkseid when he invaded with his army, but somehow the injured and beaten supervillain survives and takes refuge in the stars (most likely meaning space).

There’s also mention of the Mother Boxes, which look to have been left behind by the winning army. These are “distributed among the three generations/tribes/races/clans” who might have to defend Earth against Darkseid if he tries to invade again.

Of course, you should take this with a pinch of salt, as for all we know this text could just be a placeholder that changes before the film is released. Speaking of which, the long-awaited Snyder cut of Justice League is scheduled to arrive some time next year on HBO Max, and that release window might just fall within early 2021, if recent reports are to be believed.

Either way, we’ll know a lot more at the DC FanDome event – a 24-hour virtual convention that starts on August 22nd. It’s an event worth getting excited for as well, with DC promising to make announcements spanning the entire DC universe, including movies, shows, games and comic books. Fingers crossed we’ll get a full trailer for the Snyder Cut of Justice League at that point, too.

Bruce Campbell Says Evil Dead 4 Will Be A Whole New Ballgame

Bruce Campbell made his name with the Evil Dead franchise and has been quizzed about its return in every interview he’s done for the last twenty years. Fortunately, right now there’s some actual news for him to report.

Yes, as you may’ve heard, Evil Dead 4 is officially going ahead under the direction of Lee Cronin, though it won’t feature Bruce Campbell’s Ash. The project was officially announced two weeks ago when Campbell revealed that the title was Evil Dead Now. Things seem to have shifted a little even since then, though, as in a new interview with Diabolique Magazine, Campbell unveiled a new (and in my opinion much better) title, saying:

“The official name is Evil Dead Rise. We’re getting a new draft in. I don’t think anything will happen until 2021. Full bore ahead, we’re very excited about it. A whole, new ballgame. No more cabin in the woods.”

That last line should be of interest to fans, as the ‘Evil Dead Cabin’ has become a staple of the series. Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2 and the 2013 soft reboot all took place in the woodland cabin. The rural location has provided many of the series’ iconic elements, like killer trees, animated hunting trophies and, of course, the chainsaw.

Evil Dead has taken many trips away from this location, too, though. Army of Darkness tossed Ash back in time to the medieval era, while the much-missed Ash vs. Evil Dead took place all over the country (though returned to the cabin for various reasons).

Abandoning it for something new is a big indication that the upcoming movie is intended to be a fresh start for the franchise. But wherever they eventually decide to set it, I’m sure Evil Dead Rise will provide the rollercoaster of horror and the fountains of blood we’ve come to expect. Roll on 2021.

Whereas the men could hide their physique behind sleek tuxedos and padded robes, many a femme fatale had to appear dressed in skimpy, risque outfits whenever they appear on set, and “look good” in them, too.

Although in recent years American culture has become increasingly aware of and unsympathetic towards the idea of these male-gaze promulgated double standards when it comes to sex and beauty, the average Hollywood heroine still has to emulate the makings of a skinny supermodel.

Scarlett Johansson, one of Hollywood’s biggest contemporary sex symbols, knows that all too well. In a recent interview with Candis Magazine, the celebrated actress compared her own trials and tribulations when it comes to staying ‘fit’ to a scene from the classic film All About Eve.

“There has always been pressure on actors to stay thin,” Johansson said. “There’s a scene in one of my favorite movies, All About Eve, where Bette Davis is circling around the room, horribly upset about something, and she picks up a chocolate … puts it down … picks it up again … puts it down again … finally, she gives in and eats it, but only after a huge struggle! So even back then, there was the pressure going on. And now, it’s much worse.”

Netflix Facing Lawsuit Over Sherlock Holmes Spinoff Enola Holmes

Netflix is set to release a fun new twist on the Sherlock Holmes legend in the near future – Enola Holmes, starring Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown as the eponymous younger sister of the Great Detective. Both Sherlock and Brown fans are excited for the movie, then, but not everyone’s on board with it. The estate of Arthur Conan Doyle, the literary character’s creator, is taking Netflix to court in a copyright lawsuit.

As revealed by Deadline, Doyle’s estate filed a 19-page complaint against the streaming giant in New Mexico federal court, with the central point being that the “copyright infringement arises from defendants unauthorized copying of original creative expression by [Conan Doyle] in copyrighted Sherlock Holmes stories.”

The estate’s argument is that, while most Holmes stories are in the public domain, the final 10 Doyle wrote were published from 1923-7, so they’re still in copyright. The suit notes that, following his tragic experiences in World War 1, Doyle endeavored to add more humanity to his detective as well as “significant new character traits.” It’s claimed that Enola Holmes borrows from concepts established in these later stories. As per the suit:

“When Conan Doyle came back to Holmes in the Copyrighted Stories between 1923 and 1927, it was no longer enough that the Holmes character was the most brilliant rational and analytical mind. Holmes needed to be human. The character needed to develop human connection and empathy.”

The suit argues that the movie marks a “willful, deliberate, and ongoing infringement of the Conan Doyle Estate’s copyrights.” On the back of this, Doyle’s estate is seeking a jury trail and is demanding the defendants pay them unspecified damages. Director Harry Bradbeer and writer Jack Thorne are among the case’s defendants, as is Nancy Springer and Penguin Random House, the author and publisher of the books the film is based on.

It’s unclear how things will proceed from here, but it’s worth noting that a similar lawsuit was filed against 2015’s Mr. Holmes, starring Ian McKellen, and that was ultimately settled settled out of court and dismissed a few months after.

Also starring Henry Cavill as Sherlock himself and Sam Claflin as eldest sibling Mycroft, Enola Holmes was originally due for a theatrical release from Legendary until the pandemic changed plans. A release date has yet to be announced.
