Everything Coming To Netflix, Disney Plus, Hulu And More This Weekend

It’s finally the weekend and though you might expect the best incoming streaming content to be saved for the start of July, there’s actually plenty to keep subscribers to Netflix and all the major services occupied, as each site is adding some great new titles over the next few days.

Today, Friday the 26th, saw a bunch of notable new releases, including Netflix’s Will Ferrell-starring musical comedy movie Eurovision and Amazon’s secret agent comedy My Spy, with Dave Bautista. It’s no doubt something you’ve seen many times before, but Disney Plus finally just added Avengers: Infinity War as well, so you might want to give that another watch – for the 100th time. And, in case you missed it, Hulu also added the 2019 reboot of Charlie’s Angels yesterday.

Guns Akimbo

In terms of sheer volume of new content, Disney Plus clearly takes the crown this weekend. Alongside Infinity War, the Mouse House’s service is also adding both classic animated flick Tarzan and its straight-to-video sequel, not to mention the first Percy Jackson movie, ahead of the new TV series based on Rick Riordan’s books that’s in the works. Plus, there’s Into the Unknown: The Making of Frozen 2, which you may wish to catch if you’re an Arrendelle enthusiast.

Over on HBO Max, the highlight of this weekend’s additions has to be the extended director’s cut of Mike Flanagan’s Doctor Sleep, the sequel to The Shining starring Ewan McGregor that came out last fall. If you haven’t watched it yet, do yourself a favor and go fix that. Meanwhile, if you’ve ever wanted to see Harry Potter‘s Daniel Radcliffe lead a crazy action film, then Guns Akimbo is for you. Catch it on Prime from today.

But tell us, what do you plan on watching on Netflix, Disney Plus, HBO Max, etc. this weekend? Let us know in the comments.

Michael Keaton Will Get To Wear The Batsuit In The Flash

Earlier this week, we learned that Michael Keaton will reprise his role as Batman in the upcoming DCEU film centered on Ezra Miller’s Flash. Keaton starred in the part before, of course, during the late 80s and early 90s, when he played the Caped Crusader in Tim Burton’s heavily stylized but nonetheless iconic adaptations of the comics.

How big of a role Bruce Wayne will have in The Flash, no one knows for sure. However, it may well be a sizable one as, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision, Keaton will be wearing a Batsuit and appear as the vigilante himself rather than his playboy millionaire alter ego.

At this point, it should be noted that Keaton’s role in the film has yet to be officially confirmed. Ever since it was announced that Ben Affleck, who portrayed the character in the DCEU’s early years, would be leaving the franchise though, fans and journalists alike have been obsessed with finding his replacement. Remember, Pattinson’s Batman isn’t expected to be within the continuity of the DCEU.

Keaton, with his track record, seems an obvious choice to replace Ben, but he’s also a little problematic. Given the actor’s age, which is considerably older than Affleck, casting him would mean restyling the Batman character into more of a mentor role. Then again, given how Affleck more or less tried to play precisely such a part in Justice League, this may just make Keaton an even better fit.

Would casting Keaton also change the design of his costume, though? In the Burton movie, the actor wore a unique version of the Batsuit that’s since become associated with his name and person. An all-black rubber getup equipped with a bright yellow Bat-symbol, it may not be the most stealthy iteration of the Batman costume, but certainly one of the most recognizable ones.

In any case, we’ll have to wait and see how this all pans out, but tell us, are you excited to see Keaton return in The Flash? Let us know by dropping a comment down below.

The Coca-Cola Company is pausing all digital advertising on social media platforms globally for at least 30 days starting July 1st, the soda giant announced on Friday evening.

The move is part of a broader boycott of Facebook and Instagram organized by the Anti-Defamation League, the NAACP, and other organizations called the “Stop Hate For Profit” campaign. Coca-Cola is going one step further than some of those companies and banning all ads globally on social media platforms, not just Facebook and Instagram. That would suggest the boycott will hit Twitter, YouTube, and other platforms as well.

“Starting on July 1, The Coca-Cola Company will...

There’s a TV series based on the 2019 indie game Disco Elysium possibly coming, Variety reports. Disco Elysium launched in October 2019 exclusively on PC, set in the same universe as the 2013 novel Sacred and Terrible Air. In the game, you play as an experienced detective tasked with solving a murder mystery in a city still recovering from a decades-old war.

Following its release, Disco Elysium received a positive reception from fans and critics; The Verge even recommends it as a game you should play if you recently bought or built a gaming PC. Disney delays Mulan again as movie studios continue game of wait-and-see amid pandemic

Disney has delayed Mulan for the second time this year, moving the film from July 24th to August 21st. The move follows Warner Bros.’ decision to delay Christopher Nolan’s Tenet for a second time from July 31st to August 12th.

Disney doesn’t want to be the first studio to release a major film in the middle of a pandemic when the company is unsure of about how many people will show up. The delay is added confirmation that Disney and Warner Bros. are engaged in a game of release chicken. Neither studio wants to go first, testing out their potential billion-dollar movies in a market where the films could lose money if audiences don’t turn up or restrictions mean that audiences can’t watch said movies.

Disney CEO Bob Chapek previously...
