Ant-Man 3’s Release Date May Have Been Leaked

It’s a beetle! It’s a worm! It’s…Ant-Man? Quite possibly, actually.

Ant-Man 3 has been nowhere to be heard or seen during recent Marvel events, never even escaping the lips of the almighty Kevin Feige once. People feared the worst and thought perhaps there may not be a continuation of his or Wasp’s stories. But Paul Rudd’s been telling the fans to make it happen and Marvel may have been keeping something from us all, per an intrepid and reliable rascal.

Twitter user Charles Murphy, who’s put up leaks before that’ve been mostly verified, posted this list of possible upcoming happenings for the Marvel Cinematic Universe:

Right there at the bottom, AM 3 is slated for a June 29th, 2022 release. And while this has yet to be confirmed, I certainly hope it’s true as I’d love to see a giant Paul Rudd punch more space dragons. Also, Michelle Pfeiffer had that dope-looking bug-sickle thing when she was in the Quantum Realm and I really want to see her duke it out.

Also curious is the wow emoji on the final space there. It’s proposed that that’s the next big team-up movie, some sort of Avengers, be they Dark or Young. It’s anybody’s ballgame right now though and the Tweet even says that all of this is subject to change. However, this set up makes me worried that the TV shows are going tie into the movies at an alarming pace, which will find us non-Disney Plus subscribers left out in the cold.

Oh well! This is good news for Paul Rudd or Michael Douglas or Michael Pena’s quick talking fans. Personally, I like the Ant-Man movies as nice palate cleansers from the grand, gigantic adventures of other Marvel heroes, especially the first one’s focus on the heist. We’re probably going to be waiting a while for Ant-Man 3, but at least this list gives us a tangible date to look forward to.

Kit Harington Teases His Role As Black Knight In The Eternals

Fresh off completing Game of Thrones, Kit Harington signed up to join the MCU over this past summer. Specifically, he’ll be featuring as part of the starry ensemble cast of The Eternals. The former Jon Snow actor will be playing Dane Whitman, who fans know best as the English superhero Black Knight.

With production still underway and details kept under lock and key, as is the Marvel way, Harington can’t say too much about his role but he did offer a few teasing words while speaking at the NEXT Conference earlier this month. When asked where his career was going next after GoT, Harington confirmed he was playing a “superhero” in Eternals, joking that there’s a connection with Snow as both characters have swords.

“Now I’m going with a Marvel movie. I’m going on to play a superhero, which is cool. I don’t know what I can say about it, I’m scared to sort of even mention it. I’m trying to choose things as far away from Jon Snow as possible, but I’m playing a superhero and he’s got a sword.”

The sword Harington mentions is presumably the Ebony Blade, Black Knight’s invincible weapon from the comics which carries a curse due to evil deeds committed with it by Whitman’s less scrupulous ancestors. Yes, Whitman is from a lineage that dates back to Arthurian times, so expect this to be touched on in Eternals, which will no doubt also explore the long lives of the eponymous immortals.

Harington’s Whitman is also believed to be involved in a romance with Gemma Chan’s Sersi in the movie, another thing pulled from the source material. There’s a very good chance this role won’t be a one-off, either, as We Got This Covered has heard that Black Knight could get his own film, lead his own team of British heroes, and join the lineup of the New Avengers later down the line.

But first comes The Eternals and it’s due to hit theaters next November.

Netflix Raising $2 Billion In Debt To Fund More Original Content

With the big streaming war looming just beyond the horizon, Netflix is trying to pull out all the stops to ensure that they remain top dog amidst all of the competition. In fact, the company is now planning to take on another $2 billion in debt in an effort to fund even more of its original programming.

This latest increase only adds to the previous bill that Netflix already owes. As of this time last year, their total debt was reportedly hovering somewhere around the $12 billion range. That total’s obviously grown since then and now looks like it’s going to grow even more.

While this is good news for subscribers, who’ll likely get even more top quality content, it also deepens the mystery as to how Netflix actually makes a profit. The streaming platform is constantly spending money without ever incorporating advertisements or significantly raising the cost for customers. It’s miraculous how they can keep this up, especially given the fact that their value dropped $24 billion in less than a week over the summer.

Netflix likely feels that they have no choice but to take on this debt if they want to remain relevant. Apple, Disney, NBCUniversal and Warner Media are all set to launch their own streaming services in the near future, and these competitors will just add to a field that already features current heavyweights like Hulu and Amazon Prime Video, which puts Netflix in a tough position.

Things get even more dicey when one realizes that a lot of the content that people love on the platform will soon be headed to one of these new services. For example, both Friends and The Office are set to depart for NBCUniversal. Anything Marvel, Star Wars and Disney related will also be ditching Netflix in favor of Disney+.

Netflix is taking on all of this extra debt to try to make their original content more enticing than anything else their competitors have to offer and while how they’ll eventually pay it all back in the long run still remains to be seen, viewers should just be happy that they’re about to get a lot more phenomenal content heading their way soon.
