Avengers: Endgame Could Have X-Men Post-Credits Scene If Disney/Fox Deal Closes First

With the Disney/Fox deal still to come into effect and Avengers: Endgame just over two months away from release, most fans know better than to expect the X-Men or Fantastic Four to arrive in time to join the fight against Thanos. Nonetheless, a recent passage from a THR piece has got the internet talking with its suggestion that a post-credits tease may not be entirely out of the question.

While the article is primarily concerned with making the case that the time is right for a Silver Surfer movie, the part that’s really drawn the attention of fans is its closing statements, which offer the suggestion that the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War sequel may still offer a last-minute tease of Marvel’s newest acquisitions:

“With the merger still yet complete, Marvel won’t be allowed to put any teases into April’s Endgame … but let’s just say if we were to catch even a glimpse of a silver surfboard in the post-credits of Avengers: Endgame, well it might be the most cheer-worthy and thematically fitting final moment since Nick Fury first told Tony Stark he’d just become part of a bigger universe.”

As it stands, the possibility seems like a real long shot, especially when we don’t even know that the deal will have closed in time for the film’s release. But while actually casting the next Silver Surfer, Wolverine, or any other newly acquired character before the release of Endgame seems practically out of the question at this point, THR may not be entirely off base when they suggest a potential visual clue in the vein of a silver surfboard.

That being said, Marvel Studios surely has enough projects in the works based on currently owned properties that Endgame could tease instead. Though producer Kevin Feige mentioned just a few days ago that the studio won’t announce its plans beyond 2019 until this year’s films have all been released, it certainly wouldn’t be surprising to see Endgame offer a post-credits nod to The Eternals or Black Widow, both of which are expected to come out next year.

All in all, we wouldn’t bet on Avengers: Endgame dropping any explicit hints of an upcoming Fantastic Four or X-Men movie, but feel free to hold out hope until the film hits theaters on April 26th, 2019.

Ghostbusters Reboot Star Fully Supports The New Movie

After all the ugliness that unfolded around the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot, it was inevitable that the next attempt at resurrecting the property would be a topic of controversy, and sure enough, Jason Reitman’s Ghostbusters 3 has seen its share of drama before so much as a cast member has been announced.

Nonetheless, it seems that Melissa McCarthy, star of Paul Feig’s female-led reboot, is happy to see what Reitman comes up with, telling Entertainment Tonight that the filmmaker has an intriguing idea for where he wants to take the series.

“I’m for anybody who’s making movies. I talked to Jason about it, he’s just always had this idea, and his goes back to the world where the guys did exist and I’m like, ‘I want to see that,’” McCarthy said. “I’m all for it. I say like, ‘Tell the story.’”

Last month, 2016 Ghostbusters star Leslie Jones offered a distinctly less favorable response to the news that Reitman’s film will be reverting back to the continuity of the original series, taking to social media to call the development “insulting” and “like something Trump would do.” According to McCarthy, however, there’s plenty of room for new stories from the franchise, especially with a director as renowned as Reitman at the helm.

“I think there’s a million stories to be told. He’s a really, really good filmmaker and a really good storyteller, so I will be there buying my ticket,” McCarthy told ET. “I’m all for it.”

Though it’s evident that not all of McCarthy’s co-stars feel the same, 2016 Ghostbusters helmsman Paul Feig has previously tweeted that he too is “very open” to Reitman’s take on the series, but also supports Jones’s right to say otherwise.

In any case, while Reitman’s Ghostbusters movie will be occupying the same reality as the first two installments in the series, it remains to be seen who from the original cast might return, though Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson both seem game to reprise their roles.

Either way, recent reports indicate that the film will be led by a new line-up, consisting of two girls and two boys in the teen and preteen age range. We’ll find out how the latest team fares when Ghostbusters 3 hits theaters on July 10th, 2020.

Avengers: Endgame Theory Says Hulk Actually Died In Infinity War

In the wake of some Avengers: Endgame promo art that dropped earlier this month, many fans are more confident than ever that the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War sequel will see the MCU debut of Professor Hulk, a comic book character who’s essentially a merge of Hulk’s body and Bruce Banner’s mind. And while this development is still to be confirmed, one new theory which emerged on Reddit has offered an intriguing suggestion for how it might happen.

The theory came up in response to a Reddit post from user Angrydanmarin, who suggested that while Banner was lucky enough to survive the Decimation at the end of Infinity War, his Hulk side – which Infinity War demonstrated to be a separate being from Bruce – was snapped away, leaving Banner as the sole inhabitant of his body.

While there remains little compelling evidence for Angrydanmarin’s theory, the post did inspire fellow user Saphodmonkey to suggest that with Hulk’s mind no longer occupying Bruce’s body, Professor Hulk could be the result of Bruce transforming into the Hulk form while maintaining his own mind.

Again, this is all just speculation for the time being, and the internet has certainly offered alternative suggestions for how Professor Hulk could enter the fray. Nonetheless, it still sounds like an interesting and creative route for Endgame to take, which would allow fans to see the big green Avenger in action after his absence for most of Infinity War, while also setting up a touching reunion between Bruce and Hulk once the snap is reversed.

Either way, it’s clear that the pair will have some major issues to work through when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th, 2019.

Perhaps spurred on by the hype surrounding Samsung’s Galaxy Fold and Huawei’s Mate X, Oppo VP Brian Shen has revealed images of his company’s own take on a foldable phone. Shen makes it clear in his Weibo post that Oppo isn’t yet planning to ship the prototype device unless it sees a lot of demand, but the pictures show that the company is leaning towards Huawei’s design more than Samsung’s.

That’s to say there’s a single large OLED panel that wraps around both sides of the phone when it’s folded, rather than being folded away on the inside. There’s also a thicker bar on one side that houses cameras and other components.

Whether Oppo decides to ship this phone or not, it’s clear that we’re approaching the point where similar phones...

For the 91st Academy Awards, the producers relied on a series of self-referential dunks to get through the first telecast in 30 years without a host — and the result was solidly entertaining.

Google Assistant Oscar ads reimagine classic movies with a helpful AI

A series of new Google Assistant ads aired during the 91st annual Oscars Sunday night, reimagining how some classic and recent films would change with Google’s AI helper.

Movies like 2001: A Space Odyssey, Ladybird, Psycho, and Scream all appeared in short ads that played throughout the award show. The ads reconsidered how crucial scenes from each movie would work with Google Assistant saving time or assisting the characters.

This isn’t the first time Google Assistant has appeared in classic movies; a previous commercial also reimagined Home Alone with an AI-friendly scenario back in December.

Lenovo has created ThinkPad and Yoga headphones

Lenovo is creating its own headphones for ThinkPad and Yoga laptop owners. The PC maker has created two versions with active and electronic noise cancellation that will be targeted at consumers and businesses. Lenovo’s Yoga ANC headphones have a white design, while the X1 ANC headphones come in the typical ThinkPad silver and black style. Both headphones share the same features and overall collapsible design, and support Windows PCs and iOS / Android devices through Bluetooth 5.0 and USB-C connectivity.

Lenovo is making some largely incremental updates to its more affordable IdeaPad laptops and its ThinkPad X and T series today.
